Circulatory System Project Update:
For our project we decided to show blood circulating through the body. We showed this by using tubes connected to cups, which represented different organs, and then having the blood (water) circulate through our model. To make our model look more like the circulatory system, we chose to draw a picture of the human body on a board, on which our model would be resting. To have our blood properly circulate through our model, we used water pumps to pump the blood through. Our system worked smoothly, but we ran into one big problem. No matter what we did, there always seemed to be an abundance of leaks. We tried duct tape and parafilm but nothing worked. Eventually to solve this problem, we used plastic containers to rest the cups in, so if there were any leaks, the water would just go into the container.

Circulatory System Project Reflection:
For this project we had to model two functions of the circulatory system. We started out brainstorming ideas in a google doc. We then selected the project we all liked and had the means to create. By far, our biggest challenge was the abundance of leaks. We tried almost everything to try to stop them: parafilm, duct tape, etc.. Throughout the project we had to keep finding new solutions to stop the leaks. Eventually the only thing we found that would work was to put plastic containers under the leaking cups. Although we had this annoying challenge, we had plenty of successes too. We never had a problem with getting our project to work. Our project circulated like we expected it to from the beginning, our only problem was leaks. Our model successfully worked throughout the time period of this project. We only tweaked our project to fix the leaks and change the way the tubing was situated. Presentation night went well. Our presentation ran smoothly and we didn't run into any bumps. We got positive feedback from parents and judges. There is a button below of our slideshow for this project. The judges said we had great attitude, open to suggestions, and concise and accurate answers. The picture above is a picture of our final project.
